BodyTalk: Building Body Confidence is a workshop which aims to help young girls build positive self-image by understanding and dealing with perceptions and feelings about physical appearance. It is designed to empower Filipina girls aged 8 to 14 to develop positive self-image. And aims to educate and inspire young girls about the wider definition of beauty.
BodyTalk Philippines has been adapted from the version initially sponsored by the Dove Self-Esteem Fund in the United Kingdom. The components of BodyTalk are: All about me: Teaches kids to appreciate themselves through an awareness of their beauty and talents Beauty Standards and Me: Opens up their eyes to the unrealistic standards of beauty and teaches them to widen their ideals of what is beautiful Building Positive Self-image: Using the power of words, hygiene and care, and self-awareness to overcome beauty insecurities A Promise to Myself: Committing to value themselves and affirmation of own beauty. GSP partners with Dove and Unilever Philippines, Inc. to help young girls develop positive self-image. Through the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, proceeds from Dove products are used to conduct BodyTalk, building body confidence workshops for girls age 8-14. GSP signs a commitment to conduct BodyTalk workshops to its membership, contributing to the realization of its mission to nurture the total well-being of young Filipinas. Watch out for the unveiling of BodyTalk in January 2007.
